1976 Mon Tricot Knit and Crochet

My kind friend Caroline recently brought a neat piece of crochet history with her to my regular Sunday stitching group. It's a June 1976 issue of Knit and Crochet Magazine. She gave it to me to add to my collection.

It's awesome how what goes around comes back around again. The projects and illustrations in the magazine are so wonderfully 70s. Vintage crochet bikinis are featured in this magazine, yet crochet bikinis have come back in style now in 2016.

So cute! What other vintage crochet projects have you seen come back in style recently?

Vintage Crochet Pattern Treasure from Vicki

I've mentioned my wonderful friend Vicki, an avid knitter, before. Kind friend that she is, she recently brought me this incredible stack of vintage crochet (plus some knitting and embroidery) patterns that her grandmother had saved up through the years.

I am just now starting to organize them and man they are SO COOL. I will be sharing them with you as I go along and put together a binder. Many of them date back to the 1910's and one is from 1908! I cannot wait to actually work up some of these projects. They are so beautifully classic. It's important to me that crochet history is preserved and celebrated. Thank you so very much, Vicki! The patterns will be well loved and taken care of.

Antique Store Crochet Treasure Trove

The other day I went to a local antique store. I like to collect bottles and keys, so looking through the vintage and antique offerings is always thrilling to me. What I didn't expect to find there was crochet... and lots of it! Seriously, everywhere I turned I found more examples of gorgeous crochet. I took about a jillion pictures and I'd like to share them with you today. Feast your eyes on the treasures I found!
