Free Digital Crochet Stickers

Image attribution is very important. Sometimes folks use mine and others' photos without permission which isn't a very nice thing to do. So here's a reminder: Ask permission and give proper attribution when using photos that don't belong to you on blogs and websites.

Now that I've put that out there, I want to reward those of you who always ask permission before using photos. I was feeling crafty and decided to make y'all some free digital crochet stickers. Feel free to use these pictures however you want! :)

  2. Such a timely post - the day before I found this one, I discovered someone had used one of my photographs on their blog without permission. They had added a link back to my blog page but did not attribute the photo or credit me as the copyright owner. Had the blogger the courtesy to ask me first or even to let me know they wanted to post it, I would probably not have objected but since they did not ask, I have requested that they remove the photograph as a matter of principle. Whether the blogger will do that or not remains to be seen. It is disappointing but I was encouraged by your blog post here today. Thank you, Sara. :-)

    1. I'm sorry to hear about that :/ It really can feel violating when someone takes your pictures without asking like that. Glad you enjoyed the post!

    2. I did enjoy your post Sara - your stickers look great. You have put a lot of work into them. I have no idea how to do that! Good job :-)
I am pleased to report that the blogger respected my wishes and swiftly apologised and removed my photograph.
Just because an image is published on the internet, doesn't mean it is available for everyone to use as they please.
How would you feel if a photo of you was being used all over the place and you didn't know or have a say in it? That's what it is like when people don't give credit where it is due when sharing on the internet. Giving correct attribution is also a courtesy to readers so they can investigate the source for themselves if they want. I am glad I am not the only one who feels that image attribution is important. Thanks for speaking up.
